MVRCS students follow a strict dress code, attend school for 200 instructional days per year, and participate in a longer school day, 60 minutes more than the traditional public school schedule. Position Overview:

MVRCS is seeking a dedicated and collaborative Elementary Teacher (Grades 1–6) to join our academic team. This role offers the unique opportunity to teach within a content-rich, structured, and supportive environment. Affordable housing may be available for the selected candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and maintain a consistent classroom environment aligned with school expectations and curriculum.

  • Implement daily instruction using Direct Instruction and Core Knowledge curricula.

  • Apply effective behavior management strategies, including the 4:1 positive reinforcement model.

  • Track and submit student progress and lesson documentation weekly to the Professional Development Coordinator.

  • Provide feedback on curriculum implementation and student outcomes.

  • Attend all required professional development sessions and staff meetings.

  • Participate in team meetings, IEP meetings, and contribute to the Teacher Assistance Team (TAT) as needed.

  • Support special education requirements by implementing accommodations and documenting progress.

  • Prepare and distribute quarterly report cards and progress reports for students in your homeroom and instructional groups.

  • Lead four parent-teacher conferences annually (two in the fall, two in the spring).

  • Attend school-wide events such as Back to School Night, open houses, holiday performances, and special assemblies.

  • Fulfill assigned supervisory duties (e.g., morning arrival, lunch/recess, dismissal).

  • Adhere to and uphold all school policies and procedures.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Lead Teacher.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to assess and interpret data to inform instruction

  • Understanding of school operations, relevant laws, and MVRCS policies

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment

  • Strong classroom management and organizational skills

  • Successful completion of all applicable MTEL tests within one year of employment
