Students in Grades K–12 adhere to a dress code and attend school for 200 instructional days—20 more than most traditional public schools. Position Overview: Spanish Teacher
Mystic Valley Regional Charter School is seeking a passionate and qualified Spanish Teacher to implement the school’s Spanish curriculum. The Spanish Teacher plays a vital role in supporting student language development, fostering cultural awareness, and ensuring academic achievement in alignment with school expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain a well-organized, engaging classroom environment and adhere to the established daily schedule
Manage classroom behavior through positive reinforcement, maintaining a 4:1 ratio of positive comments to corrections
Implement curriculum with fidelity
Track and document lesson delivery and student progress daily; submit documentation to the Department Chair weekly
Communicate lesson successes and challenges to the Department Chair on a weekly basis
Participate fully in all professional development opportunities
Attend and contribute to weekly grade-level team meetings, weekly or bi-weekly Teacher Assistance Team (TAT) meetings, and bi-monthly staff meetings
Participate in IEP meetings as needed
Complete four progress reports and four report cards per year for homeroom and specialty class students, and any additional students taught in academic groups
Conduct four parent-teacher conferences annually (two in the fall and two in the spring)
Attend school events including Back to School Night, open houses, and the High School Senior Luncheon
Adhere to and uphold all school policies and procedures
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Department Chair
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to identify problems, analyze data, and propose effective solutions
Knowledge of and adherence to state and federal education laws and MVRCS policies
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment
Strong instructional, classroom management, and organizational skills
Successful completion of applicable MTEL exams within one year of employment
Legal authorization to work in the United States
Additional Information:
This is a full-time, annual appointment subject to yearly performance evaluation.
