The Kindergarten is located at 576 Eastern Avenue; the Lower School (Grades 1–8) at 770 Salem Street; and the High School (Grades 9–12) at 238 and 306 Highland Avenue.
MVRCS draws students from surrounding communities including Everett, Malden, Medford, Melrose, Stoneham, and Wakefield. The school operates on an extended-day, extended-year academic model, with classes held from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. over a 200-day school year. Job Summary
Mystic Valley is seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Nurse to support the health, safety, and well-being of our students. The ideal candidate is a skilled healthcare professional who enjoys working with children and demonstrates strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
This role includes both clinical and administrative responsibilities and plays a vital part in maintaining a safe, healthy, and supportive school environment.
Responsibilities
- Assess and evaluate students presenting with illness or injury
- Communicate with parents/guardians regarding student health concerns, including coordinating early dismissals when necessary
- Promote student health through education on hygiene, illness prevention, and general wellness practices
- Review and maintain compliance with immunization and vaccination records
- Respond to and coordinate care during medical emergencies
- Develop and support school-wide health and wellness initiatives
- Maintain accurate, confidential, and up-to-date student health records
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred
- Prior experience in a school or educational setting preferred
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with students, families, and staff
