Kindergarten: 576 Eastern Avenue
Lower School (Grades 1–8): 770 Salem Street
High School (Grades 9–12): 238 and 306 Highland Avenue
Drawing students from Everett, Malden, Medford, Melrose, Stoneham, and Wakefield, MVRCS offers a structured and academically rigorous environment. The school operates on an extended day (8:00 AM–3:30 PM) and extended year (200 instructional days) model, allowing for deeper learning and increased academic achievement. This additional time supports the school’s mission to provide a world-class, content-rich education that prepares students for success in college and beyond.
Position Summary:
MVRCS is seeking a dynamic and mission-driven History Teacher to provide large-group instruction to students in Grades 1–6. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in history or a related field, a deep commitment to student success, and a passion for teaching in an academically rigorous setting. Teachers in this role are key contributors to grade-level teams that emphasize high expectations, data-driven instruction, and collaborative improvement of teaching practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction in History to students in Grades 1–6
Design and implement assessments to track student progress and guide instruction
Use student performance data to tailor lessons, differentiate instruction, and ensure mastery of content
Collaborate with grade-level and subject-area teams to align curriculum and share best practices
Maintain a structured, supportive classroom environment with high academic and behavioral expectations
Foster a growth mindset and take full ownership of student learning outcomes
Communicate effectively and professionally with students, families, and colleagues
Participate fully in a three-week summer orientation and ongoing professional development throughout the school year
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required; degree in History or related field preferred
Demonstrated success in improving student outcomes and raising achievement
Deep content knowledge and enthusiasm for teaching History
Self-reflective with a growth-oriented mindset and openness to coaching
Strong collaboration skills and a team-first attitude
Commitment to the school’s extended day/year model and high-expectation culture
